I like to consider First United Methodist Church as a traditional church with a contemporary yet eternal message. In other words, our church worship, its mission and ministries are a blend of the old and the new. We maintain the ancient practices of the church while taking full advantage of modern technology -- computers, projectors, etc. Our worship service is a traditional one; however, we blend with it contemporary praise songs and the Word is proclaimed in such a way that it is in step with the times. This is a great congregation, and Newport is a wonderful place to be.
